REGULAR CAMPAIGNS ON FIGHTING AGAINST SGBV, HIV/AIDS AND OTHER INFECTIOUS DISEASES
OHED is conducting campaigns in streets to create awareness about HIV/AIDS. Thousands of people across the world are suffering from this epidemic disease. There are also people who might be HIV positive but still don’t have any clue about their conditions. They are sensitized by OHED members and get explained about the importance of doing medical check-ups.
This would mean that in OHED operational zones, most people are not aware of HIV/AIDS and they can’t get adequate solutions to all the complex HIV problems, unless they get informed regularly through forums, public meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.
Additional things OHED members do are to educate communities on the avoidance of SGBV cases and prevent the related stigmatization by educating students and teachers in schools, churches, sport clubs, youth centers, assemblies, and other public locations. Some of the studies conducted by OHED members reveal that HIV positive people are sometimes marginalized and stigmatized in villages and towns of the DR Congo. So, they need assistance.
