LEADERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITIES
At OHED, each member is a leader even if he/she holds no position in an existing committee. In case a responsible person is not present in the area, any other trained member can undoubtedly play the same role while being an acting representative.

GUIDING AND MANAGING
We know the importance and significance of leadership in OHED management. In operational zones, leadership function is a matter of pushing OHED members until they do what the leading committee and by-laws wish them to do. Leadership is primarily a matter of removing barriers so that OHED members can act with freedom and independence. In addition, leadership encourages and stimulates actions from OHED workers by innovating them in planning and decision making activities. Good leadership and management are essential to OHED business since they shape the way we live, work and implement our programs.

GUIDING AND ORIENTING
At OHED, members’ orientation is necessary because it sets a basis for the new adherents. The first impressions of guiding and orienting are significant because they build the base for everything that follows in a particular organization program. Still, it is the most neglected function in many areas. We all know that without orientation, a new OHED member may feel uncomfortable in the new environment and can take extra time to reach full potential.

TRAINING SESSIONS FOR AWARENESS AND CAPACITY BUILDING
Training and development programs are essential to OHED members for the success of the organization. Not only do these programs offer opportunities for teams to improve their skills, but also for members and volunteers to enhance productivity and culture. Also, they can reduce members’ turnover and a 2020 OHED study shows just how training sessions are very important for the organization’s bottom line.

MOTIVATING MEMBERS THROUGH MORAL SUPPORT
At OHED, motivation puts human resources into action; it leads to achievement of organizational goals ; it improves level of efficiency of members ; and, it leads to stability of workforce. Normally, OHED members are doing their best to carry out their plans in accordance with the policies and programmes laid down by their General Assembly.

COMMON EFFORTS FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
At OHED, common efforts are internal systems created to achieve common goals through people-to-people and people-to-work relationships. They are essentially goal-directed and deliberately structured for coordinated activity systems. Members’ efforts are linked to the environment in which they are conducting their education and development activities. Common efforts are made up of identified and registered members and contribute to relationships with one another while managing the organizational structures and coordinating resources to achieve the organization’s purpose.

IMPORTANCE OF REGULAR MEETINGS AT OHED
Meetings are an important way to motivate OHED teams and help initiatives run smoothly. Whether we need to share information, gather feedback, or make decisions, there are a plethora of positive effects of having daily and weekly staff meetings at every OHED office. According to a leadership lesson presented by the OHED trainers, “Effective meetings allow for open conversation that draws upon each members’ knowledge, skills, and perspectives to solve problems and to support one another in achieving the collective goals.”

OFFICE TASKS
OHED members perform a wide range of services aimed to enhance human well-being and welfare. Our organization relentlessly works towards sustainable development and continues to bring a positive change in the Congolese society. OHED has different structures, activities, policies, etc. and all its members are committed towards their cause and perform their functions to achieve their respective goals in areas where offices are established.

OHED members facilitate government policies to reach remote areas and enhance the overall effectiveness of social welfare schemes. As indicated in the section above, OHED members perform a variety of services for social well-being either through implementing development projects or through advocacy.
